According to the press release, LaCour will assume the role effective November 1 after more than 16 years as President and CEO of the Katy Region Economic Development Council, during which LaCour helped attract thousands of jobs to the Katy region through strong business expansion and attraction plans.
“Lance is widely known and respected across the state and country for his success in creating jobs and attracting capital investment to his community,” Armstrong said. “Over the years, we’ve seen him take Katy’s board from the early stages to a powerful economic development organization.”
LaCour will replace former economic development president Mark Mitchell who resigned his post in June after four years, as previously reported by Community impact journal. In the meantime, Mitchell will continue to work on economic development initiatives with Partnership Lake Houston on a contract basis until LaCour takes over on Nov. 1, the statement said.
